My name is Vickie, and I am a chocoholic. There, I've said it. I don't think I could get through a day without it. I don't mean cake or cookies. Chocolate candy is my addiction. My last cholesterol count tipped the scales at slightly over 200. And I know these.........
are not the culprit. No, the more likely cause are the bad eggs in my diet.
Exhibit A.
Exhibit B.
Holidays are the worst! Just check out the holiday candy aisle. Filled with all variety of pretty pastel wrapped chocolate candy that I buy because it looks so festive in my candy dishes. For a day or two. Until somebody eats it all.
I've decided not to buy any more chocolate Easter candy.
I'll bring that pastel color into the house with artificial eggs, like these wood eggs I painted years ago.
I usually line them up like soldiers on this shelf, but I found this crate for a few dollars and the eggs almost fit in the cubbies. I had to tip a few sideways and prop the shelf up with felt furniture pads so the eggs wouldn't keep rolling out.
I added some fuzzy chicks in the empty spots.
I found them at our hospital gift nook. Aren't they cute?!
I even found a spot for one of the pink flowered plates I removed from the "Sweet Sixteen" bedroom.
Our daughters are trying very hard to be healthy eaters and I've dicided to join them.
Right after breakfast.
Have a great day!
Vickie

ReplyDeletehahaha, holiday's are the worst for the best! candy, I went to the dollar tree and bought cute candy there for my jars, cute, but tastes horrible, even my kids wont eat it...lol
ReplyDeleteHi, Vicki,
ReplyDeleteI'm Deb and I'll join your "club" LOL! I try many times to give it up..and that doesn't last too many days..guess that I just have to "live" that way..it doesn't help that 2 fab candy stores are too close to my home! Abdallah's and Droolin Moose...they "know" me at those stores.
Great way to display your eggs and love the pink platter!
Have a great day! I'm doing some spring cleaning!
Deb
Very cute! I love chocolate candy too....those Reeses peanut butter egss are my favorite :o)
ReplyDelete~Des
PS. I am now following you on Google...hope you will follow me back :o)
I told myself I wouldn't eat any Cadbury eggs this year unless I could find the orange ones. So far so good!
ReplyDeleteYour painted eggs in the pop crate looks so cute!!
TRYING to eat healthy. ;) Last night Jeremy went out to get a movie, and came back with a sundae from McDonalds, and I cannot waste food. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the idea! I actually bought some painted eggs from a thrift store a few weeks ago....and I have that crate sitting there unused. :) Will definitely be adding some eggs tonight!
I love my chocolate also. I so need to try to eat healthier! Love the 7up crate and the eggs in it! Cute!
ReplyDeleteYour painted egg collection looks so cute displayed in the soda crate. I love those little chicks too. Good luck with the chocolate cravings. I totally get that. How sad would life be without any chocolate?
ReplyDeletexo,
Danielle
I like the Hershey eggs that I can't seem to find this year. And now I want a marshmallow egg. Do they make chocolate tofu eggs?
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I'm right there with ya! I love chocolate and the holidays definitely tempt me even more. Your decorated eggs look cute in the crate.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I know just what you mean....I do love chocolate. Unfortunately, I also just love anything with lots of sugar in it...
ReplyDeleteLove how you are using the crate!!
ReplyDeleteAnd those creme eggs are a big weakness for me!!
LOL! A gal after my own heart! I love chocolate too and hide my candy bars and eat them when I'm alone! I know, I have a problem! ;) Good luck with your healthier eating. Now your little crate is so cute and love how your egged it up! You painted those adorable eggs! I love them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Vickie,
ReplyDeleteChocolate is good, thank god it's not one of my cravings, only after I have Mexican food for some odd reason, all though, I have been known on rare occasions to have a snickers bar for breakfast! Love what you did with the crate and eggs, very cute! those little chicks are adorable!
I've managed to get winter put away, now just gotta get with it on spring!
Rebecca
You are so funny! I love how you displayed the eggs. I'm now following along. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, What a great way to use your old crate. Sooo cute with the eggs! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Mary Alice
love your painted eggs--the cadbury eggs, not so much:) your platter is darling, really love it!
ReplyDeleteLaughing out loud! I do love your display your eggs are just so lovely. Thanks for sharing. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteLove those little chicks. Smart using that crate to display a variety of Easter things. Speckled chocolate malted eggs ...my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love your Easter Egg display, the mix of delicate eggs and furry chicks in a rustic crate. Too cute. I'm a huge fan of Fiesta Eggs but they have to be Brach's ... No other brand of these chocolate malted eggs tastes good to me. Easter is the most chocolatey of temptations ... More so than any other holiday ( in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteThat is the most darling way to display your eggs! And I LOVE that platter overhead. So,so cottagey!
ReplyDeleteThe little yellow chick took me right over the edge! Adorable! I hate those Cadbury eggs. lol Not a temptation for me at all!!!
ReplyDeleteI am taking a statin to reduce my cholesterol. Taking no chances. It's not always diet.
Holiday is eating day. Can't resist the temptation of chocolate. The colorful eggs and the chicks are adorable. The crate is such a good display of the little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I have a weakness for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...and may or may not be found dipping into a can of chocolate frosting sometimes. I checked a can today and a tablespoon is 50 calories, so I guess a tablespoon once in awhile is ok lol...
ReplyDelete24 comments later ... daughter #2 gets around to reading blog ;0)
ReplyDeleteI love the crate too ... I think I remember you painting those - weird!
By the way, Finley LOVES her rainboots. She carries them around with her everywhere (even outside .. yup, fell off her feet a few times - luckily it was dry weather).
I like your chicky pics!
LOVE YOU!
I am addicted to those Cadbury Eggs. I can't walk past them without throwing one or ten in my shopping cart. You know, if you eat chocolate for breakfast then you have all day to work the calories off!
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteI am also a chocoholic. And I am not about to stop.I buy LOTS of cadbury eggs for my daughter and me.My husband hates those. That is fine more for us.Love that wood cubby. And those painted eggs are so cute.
I'm right there with you in the chocolate addiction. For Halloween and Easter I try to buy my kids candy that I don't like so I don't end up eating it all. Your crate looks so cute...what a good idea :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great display!! the crate is wonderful with all those adorable eggs. and let's not talk about the candy type...hope you're having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! We'd love for you to share it (and anything else you'd like) at our Beautify It Monday Link party going on now at BringingBeauty.blogpsot.com!
