Just one week ago, we enjoyed the last beautiful summer-like
weather of the year. My goal was to travel to a nearby lake ( for the last time this year)
with our kayaks to enjoy the fall colors and that's just what we did.
The temperature was an unseasonably warm 75 degrees and sunny,
so we took a drive to find a quiet lake to paddle.
No wind and not a cloud in the sky.
It was a gorgeous day to spend on the lake.
When we arrived home shortly before sunset, I took a walk around the neighborhood
to take a few pictures of the colorful trees in town.
The setting sun casts its shadows in a neighborhood park.
Autumn is fleeting in northern Minnesota, but its beauty can't be beat.
Thanks for coming along!
Vickie
Beautiful photos! I've never been to minnesota, but always wanted to visit. I also really like your new header!
ReplyDeleteI dream of moving to a place with fall foliage like this. It's so beautiful. Glad you got to take the kayak out on such a perfect day. We finally had a cool front- one more day of seventies, then back to 90. Boo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day you had. The colors of the folliage are amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful - all those golden colors make such a pretty contrast next to the blue of the lake. I've been wanting to get out and take pics of fall foliage. Ours is just starting to peak now so this week will be perfect for it. Glad you were able to get out in the canoe while the weather was still warm. Have you ever gone kayaking in winter?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Vickie. I think most of the leaves have fallen here. They went fast shortly after the last of the nice weather.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous scenery! Your photos are just fabulous. Thanks for sharing!

I have always wanted a kayak. Looks so fun! And I'd only want one if I lived somewhere as beautiful as you do...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous... those maples are stunning. Now, did you take your good camera out on the lake? Amazing photos which ever one you brought along. :)
ReplyDeleteLook at those beautiful fall colors. Hope we get good color here this year.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have the beautiful color there, Vickie! Looks like a perfect day! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteFall is so short, isn't it? It didn't seem like that when we were littles.
ReplyDeleteMack says thank you again for watching him! He didn't wake up last night until his 4:30 waking. Have a feeling we are going to have to do another round of sleep training.
It looks like a perfect day. Such pretty leaves all around and I'm sure being on the lake was heavenly!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery!

How beautiful! Love the autumn colors! Thanks for the view!

These photos are gorgeous! I wish the trees would change like that here but in the south we don't get such brilliant colors. I usually make a trip to the N. Ga Mtns each year for my 'fall fix'! This year I'm in Texas. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably gorgeous, Vickie. Your part of the country is simply breathtaking. California is wonderful but we only have two seasons - hot and cold but not freezing. Not too much in between. Enjoy your beautiful scenery.
ReplyDeleteDear Vickie, thank you for sharing the golds, browns, and the glory of your fall. Our leaves will turn a little later but it is cold here and I am in actual long sleeve pj's(at 6 PM because I have been ill). Have a terrific week, Olive
ReplyDeleteThis is such a glorious time of year! Your photos of the Fall are spectacular. I have only been to Minnesota in the summertime and have wished I could see it in the Autumn...and, now, I have!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and thanks for sharing,
Carolynn
You are so right that the beauty there can't be beat. Your pictures are beautiful! I can't get over all the Fall color you're having right now. You're further north so I guess you're getting color before us. We don't peak until the end of October usually.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a beautiful boat ride, the colors on the trees was beautiful! Were back in the 30-40's this past weekend, with a flurries. Laura
ReplyDeleteThose colors are so beautiful! It's what I miss most about living in Georgia - changing of the leaves...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breath taking!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful job you did capturing those fall colors! Just brilliant, aren't they? I love that you kayak! That's on my list of things I want to do. And living in Minnesota.... there's always a body of water to plunk that down in!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. We don't get fall color here until usually December!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous area of the country you get to enjoy, Vickie. Your photos are breathtaking!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words to me today.

What so stunning views in your region. Love all, each image is of Mother Nature. Love the color changing from green to red to yellow or golden. Fall is the most beautiful season though short. Enjoy your time.
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous, the colours are amazing, and your neighbourhood looks so pretty.
