This time of year, everybody's in a great big hurry,
so if you're here for a quick dining room tour, welcome!
For those of you who want the inside scoop,
you'll find it at the end of the post.
The biggest change this year is my all white (I know) mantel
featuring an old doll dresser that's been repaired and painted
just in time for Christmas. Enjoy!

I'm running out of daylight, so that concludes this year's
911 Christmas dining room tour.
Thanks for visiting!

** Behind the scenes; take two deux.
I thought I'd impress you with what I learned during my deux months
of high school French class. My instructor was surely a twin sister to the
Wicked Witch of the West, so I dropped the class despite her dire warning
that I'd live to regret my decision.
Oh, I don't think so Prunella Prunepuss.
Well.
As you can see above, I misspelled Joyeux and had to take
all my photos over again!!!!!
Guess who's laughing cackling now, my pretty?
1990 sound system gone bad.
Two years ago the drawer to this CD player snapped off when I was trying to
pry it open with a screwdriver. This year, thank you very much, the power button
fell inside the player, so in order to play my Christmas tunes,
I have to reach in with my pinky finger and push the teeny tiny
offset switch inside. Are you listening Santa?
Au revoir,
Vickie
So pretty, Vickie. I love all of the blue and red together. What is it with French teachers? Both of my kids have had French teachers that must be close relatives of the Wicked Witch of the West!
ReplyDeleteI think I have the same vintage sound system as you! I LOVE love love that Gothic window. thanks so much for coming over to party with us!
ReplyDeleteOH this room...the colors, the fabric...and all of your "Vickie" goodies that I love, come together so wonderfully! I could always move right into your spaces!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room has So Much Charm!! I adore this room with all of your wonderful touches and vintage goodness, Vickie, and the pops of blue and red give it such a festive vibe.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Hi Vickie! I love your dining room and it looks just perfect to me! Your home is so charming. I hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Vickie, your home looks amazing. I am really enamored with the fabric on your curtains. The contrast between those and all the white is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours.
I am sorry you had to retake your photos, but it does make for a fun story.
ReplyDeleteThe book page wreath, all the blue and white dishes and your vintage Santa's all look wonderful in your Christmas house.
LOL! Why do we never notice these things until we photograph them? I won't tell Prunella Prunepuss.
ReplyDeleteEverthing looks so wonderful...I'm loving your blue transferware with the red accents. So crisp. This is a happy place! xoxo, T.
I love your style and your decorating! So pretty and inviting, but yet clean and crisp. Love the touches of blue and red. I think I lasted but just a few months in high school French class, too and I felt the same way about my teacher. Um, yeah, you definitely need a new sound system. I heard Santa likes Bose! You do know what RCA stands for, right? ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy, my, my, Vickie! Rouge, blanc et bleu never looked so good at Christmastime! Just so pretty. Laughed out loud at the details behind the scene. Suffice it to say, perfect is acceptable. That's what my ballet master had us believing anyway.
ReplyDeletePerfect title too. You are one crafty, clever chick. I need to show the dresser on mantel to my sister who has a slew of child-size items. I love that. And these ornaments on the candlesticks certainly inspires me, and would probably save me a 911 call on Christmas Eve with my wonky candles.
Rita
Vickie, I love your dining room. The blue with a few pops of red against that pretty white background. Love your wood table against the fireplace. It is all so inviting. Wish I could come over and have a chat at your table. Hilarious about the Joyeux Noel!
ReplyDeleteI always love when I see that you've posted, because I'm just in love with your home. I love your dining room!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Your home looks so lovely, Vickie - I adore your sweet cottage!! Happy Holidays to you!!
ReplyDeleteLOL on the french class!!! Your pretty home looks so pretty in the blues and whites. Gorgeous and so soft and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Another winning post, Vickie. I love your home, your style, and your photos are first rate; reading your blog is like turning the pages of my favorite home decor magazine. Blue and white has always been one of my favorite color combinations. It's timeless. I love it with the red touches. So classy. xo
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny, Vickie. Your dining room looks gorgeous. I never would have noticed the misspelling. Love it all.
ReplyDeleteI also love your home :) you have wonderful vintage furniture.
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
Count me in as another huge fan of your beautiful, charming home. The lovely patina of your vintage pieces contrasting with the crisp, clean whites is what dreams are made of.
ReplyDelete(I for one never would have known the correct spelling. The only French I know is u el la biblioteque, and I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong too! Besides, who's looking for a library anyway while in France??).
Oh Vickie, I love it! Your home looks so pretty and welcoming and just right. And spelling is overrated :-)

Your dining room looks very pretty this time of year. I never took French (I took Spanish) so I definitely wouldn't have spelled it right!
ReplyDeleteYour dining-room is absolutely charming! And remember you have a friend who can help you with your French if you need... But you corrected "joyeux" all by yourself! Joyeux Noël!
ReplyDeleteHi and Merry Christmas! Love your home decor, and if you don't mind,
ReplyDeletewhat IS that color on your kitchen table? LOVE IT!
Thank you, Pam! I just mixed green and blue paints that I already had until I got the color I wanted. I used Jadeite dishes as my inspiration.
DeleteThanks for visiting!
Ah ha ha ha. Sounds like my Christmas sign blunder last year that I too hung up. I have Sanats Workshop.
