Double Trouble

No, you do not have double vision.

Meet the newest member of my 1950's Santa collection.

He stands about 34 inches high and has a rather friendly face.

His brother, who I'm quite certain has starred in a Stephen King movie, has a more sinister look.

Just look at those shifty eyes!

They reside in the basement during the Christmas season along with a few of their smaller helpers.

On the left is a Coca-Cola Santa ( the scariest of all, in my opinion ) which originally sold for $3.00, and the elf in the middle may have been a 7up promotional doll.  They keep a close eye on snacks eaten in the man cave.  :@

I have no idea why these two are pouting.  Maybe they are having a "time out".

The smallest of the collection, along with 2 little elves from the 60's.

They see you when you're sleeping.  They know when you're awake.
They know if you've been bad or good,
so be good for goodness sake!

  4. Vicki,
what a fun (semi scary) collection of Santas!
When the're cute, the're really cute and when the're not......! I have a Snowman and Santa that were the 1st xmas decorations I ever bought back in 1970 and my daughter keeps telling me the're creepy! We don't necessarily love them for their looks, we love them for their inner beauty, right? Naa, we love them cuz they "call" our names!

  7. Some of those definitely have an "I'm going to kill you in your sleep" kind of look! But mostly, they're really cute!

  8. We had a creepy Santa in my house when I was growing up. We would abuse the poor thing by throwing it across the room and turning it upside down. lol Wish I had him now! Funny how things change...

  10. Yes I agree they are both very strange Santas, I think my grand-peeps would agree. It surprises me the kinda things we had as kids in the 50's! Hugs, Diane

  12. I hope you don't mind me saying that I think your Santas are a little creepy. I see them at the antique stores and I can't decide if I want to add them to my Santa collection or not. So far I have not bought one. They do look awefully cute in your house though. Maybe they just need to have friends with them to be less scary?

  13. I have the Santa with the black belt! It was mine as a child! My kids think he's scary looking. I have two plastic faced reindeer too. Gotta love the 50's and early sixties!
