Let me introduce you to The Bean Theory.
When you plant beans,
you get.......beans!
One of our grandbeans talks incessantly.
Her mama bean does, too.
Another has quite a few...ah, mishaps?
His daddy bean? Likewise.

You've heard similar adages like:
*The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
*A chip off the old block.
*The meatball doesn't roll far from the plate.
*They're cut from the same cloth.

yada yada yada...
Our family likes to quote the "Bean Theory", so when
Carol of Art and Sand notified me that I won a handcrafted
pillow from her blog giveaway, I immediately chose
the Little Beans design.
My vintage organ grinder monkey points to letters on the pillow.
(Me thinks he watched way too many episodes of Wheel of Fortune.)

Not too small, not too big, but just the right size to cushion our
little beans when they're rocking, climbing,
or standing on the antique chair.

Isn't it adorable?!
Thank you Carol!
Be sure to stop by Carol's blog, Art and Sand, if you aren't already a follower.
While you're there, you can view her charming bungalow
filled with vintage treasures and gorgeous paintings by
Carol's husband Steve.
And don't miss her gardens in sunny California!
Ah, summer.
So there you have it. That's why I chose the Little Beans pillow.
Now tell me, do you have a favorite old adage?
Thanks for visiting today!

what a great prize! I love the quote, I cannot for the life of me think of one we use right now, I love yours though!
ReplyDeleteYou and your family are clever. Love the pillow. We have many sayings but I am so pooped from being outside all day I cannot think of nary one-smack me later please. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteso cute, our older daughter is nicknamed "Beanie", her name is Erin, and that became "Rean Bean" then Beanie...I think we may have a similar issue that your family has. Ours has to do with our train of thought... wooo, wooo...but I digress.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Vickie! Hmmm I'm thinking you need to by a lotto ticket :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pillow and perfect for your chair!
Anne
A perfect pillow for the perfect chair. My g'kids tell everyone that my all-time favorite saying is "Today's actions determine tomorrow's consequences". I guess that's because I tell them that all the time. LOL

Well Mrs. Bean, congratulations on your win! You picked the perfect plump pillow for your little beans!! It looks great on the little rocker with that handsome be-fezzed fellow.
ReplyDeleteI can hear my aunts and mom reciting a few adages but my mind is blank. Must be from lack of chocolate. I'll get on that. :)
congrats on your win! i love carol's cottage--and her cute pillows! i'd never heard the meatloaf saying:) such a cute post, as always, vickie!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute pillow. I like the story behind your "little beans".
ReplyDeleteOMG! I can't believe how sweet you are. Your recognition was totally unexpected. We just drove back from Los Angeles after meeting our kids at the finish line of the LA Marathon - 2 kids who were never friends as children are great friends as adults and crossed the finish line this year hand in hand. Anyway, I checked my e-mail after I switched drivers with Steve (I was falling asleep) and I read a comment from someone who mentioned that you mentioned me in your post. You more than mentioned me.
ReplyDeleteToo, too sweet!
And, I love your little organ grinder monkey.
So adorable and love your story behind it!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend!
Lovely pillow and an amazing little organ grinder monkey! Mrs Bean and that monkey deserve a lovely pillow! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pillow! Your monkey is a mix between "cute as a button" and "reminds me of flying monkeys in The Wizard Of Oz". If I dream about monkeys hauling me off tonight, you'll never hear the end of it!
ReplyDeleteThat little monkey is adorable and I love the pillow, too! I just discovered her blog today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pillow and I love your vintage monkey! Beans indeed!
ReplyDeletehugs,

So cute.I can't wait to check out that blog. The room is spectacular! My favorite saying is "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". It's so true!
ReplyDeletePretty pillow and the story behind the saying is very sweet, but that monkey is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteI love Carol's little cottage because of the color she uses! It's always a nice break from white, off white, and more white that is everywhere...although I do love white....LOL Love the Little Bean pillow....goes with Mr Sock Monkey perfectly!
