By the end of today, I should be almost done with my
shopping and have most of the gifts wrapped.
Our house is decorated, although I may need to do a bit of
undecorating before 4 sets of inquisitive hands arrive.
All that leaves is the food.
Menu planning, grocery shopping, cookie baking.....
somehow it will all get done in time.
Wouldn't you know, I finally got around to taking pictures
of our dining room and it's the gloomiest day in December!
I've had a bad case of laryngitis for the past 2 days, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Maybe I'll do a little whispering.
A new find this year.
Old crocheted stockings are tied up with string.
Nice shot of my camera.
Tea for two.
I could use a cup of hot cocoa!
Santa needs some cookies to go with the milk.
Notice the wood closure has been replaced on the secretary door.
Everything's locked up tight!
I can't resist a new old set of salt and pepper shakers.
No peeking!
Well loved mugs.
I've yet to find a rug I want for this room, so I borrowed one from the basement.
A familiar sight these days.
I hope all your packages have arrived!
Front entryway.
In just a few short days Christmas will be here.
I wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas!
Vickie

ReplyDeleteeverything is so charming, love your vintage pieces! Last year I finally broke down and gave in to some Santa mugs that called my name every time I walked by them at the antique mall and bought 5! It helped that they were on sale, I'd been resisting for a few years but they wore me down!
Kate and I have been lucky so far, Kailyn's little hands have stayed off our Christmas decorations!
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Rebecca

Your holiday decorated house is so charming, festive and bright. I love it! Happy New Year,Vickie!
ReplyDeleteThis Christmas post makes me realize how behind I got on my blog reading over the holidays. When I'm traveling I have a hard time keeping up. Love your new tree find. It's perfectly charming. And the red white and blue is so homey. It seems a lot of people got sick just before Christmas. I felt bad for everyone, until I got sick once we got home! No laryngitis for me, just a very deep man voice and that needles in the throat feeling. Hope your 2014 is starting out well.
ReplyDeleteglad i scrolled down to see this... your decor is so charming and cozy, i just love it! you have a great eye for putting it all together and for photographing it well!
